I've never seen one of these movies

When the franchise started I figured it was basically Car Porn: The Movie and since I really don't care about cars, I passed

But now they've got The Rock in it and suddenly I care

Starting with Fast Five it basically became an Oceans-style heist movie using cars as essential tools of the heist

Also I'm sorry but Han is the lead of this film

Also anybody who doesn't think that chained bank vault scene was anything short of legitimately incredible needs to get their head checked

Isn't that badass MMA fighter from Haywire in this?

according to imdb, Gina Carrano is in this yeah

Apparently this one does not even feature a perfunctory underground street race of any sort

which I could care less about

but I did really like that joyous nighttime drag race between a bunch of the bros in Fast Five

I'm not a huge car guy, but these movies are usually at the very least a solid rental.

Fun fact. I worked with the brother of Lucas Black (tokyo drift) one summer when I was an intern.

    what

    the

    fuck

    get out of here, op

    Seriously

The Rock and Vin Diesel together are better than The Rock and Vin Diesel apart

They are both super nice guys and tough looking action stars

And they should just be buddy cops already, like seriously, just make Lethal Weapon: The New Batch with those two or something, I don't care

You must not have seen the reboot last year because it was wonderful and needs a sequel, not another reboot.

Rock is perennially jacked, to the point that rumors of it being "not-entirely-natural" have always surrounded him.

Vin is aging in a more traditional curve.
  • CorporateLogoCorporateLogo Registered User regular
The Rock's gotten a lot bigger in recent years, though

    Bigger and leaner.
  • CorporateLogoCorporateLogo Registered User regular
I don't think I'd call him leaner these days

Yeah, dude isn't out of shape by any means, but he looks normal enough to be out of place in the shiny world of these movies next to aging-surfer-handsome Walker, model-handsome Tyrese, ridiculously-cut-handsome Rock, and F&F's cavalcade of gorgeous brown-haired women

i always figured i wouldn't care about these flicks, but once i saw Rock was in Fast Five, i decided i had to see it and watched all the others. they are really good action movies and this one is gonna be tits!

Leaner in the strict sense of having less body fat %.

He's all muscle, for better or worse.
  • Grey GhostGrey Ghost Registered User regular
that 2013 pic is of him playing a bodybuilder, so I don't think that's going to be his new standard
  • BalefuegoBalefuego Registered User regular
I imagine he got bigger on purpose to do Pain and Gain, I don't think he's normally that size.

i legit think Tokyo Drift is a meticulously fine-tuned example of Hollywood cinema; it is really well-made for what it is. it's also a trashy car action movie, but i can love it for both.

"It's called driftin'," terrible accent and all, is frequently said in my household.
