    Was listening to a business leader on the radio demanding a lowering of corporate taxes. Multinational corporate tax avoidance or optimisation is a big issue here at present too. Personally I am not opposed to lowering of corporate tax if we can afford it or if it is not widely avoided

    if they lower the corp tax rate, they need to raise the capital gains rate sharply for anything that isn't obviously arms-length investment, so that you don't get tax evasion via consumption of untaxed corporate assets
