Oh man, I feel like Lexxy haters are going to have a field day with this one... On another note, I feel like they totally missed an opportunity by not having cheesy 80's inspirational music for the tournament.
Once again on the editing side of things : Enjoyed the balance of using a social event to show the opinions of the strippers on the previous elimination, well done in my opinion.
Abby once again showing her hilarious personality on this challenge even that her ping pong skills were quite bad hehe.
Congrats Katie on the well deserved win against the "spinny thing".
Regarding the next episode, seriously Kiko and Khoo are gonna wreck them, but I can truly say that am as anxious to see the next episode as I would be for a elimination challenge...C'mon Khoo Woo!
(now am off to watch the PA The Series Ping Pong episodes again...)
It's unbelievable how bad these people are at ping-pong. Very entertaining to watch, though. I guess schools aren't equipped with ping-pong tables in USA? Here in Denmark - to my knowledge - more or less all the regular schools have them, at least the ones I've been to have had a ton of them.
Anywho - fantastic episode! I'm looking forward to seeing the contestants get molested by the Penny Arcade crew.
Anyway, again, classy Maki holding the door open for everyone. What a gentleman.
I'm definitely curious about how this is going to work for the elimination challenge. I have a few ideas that seem plausible, but none that make me think any of these strippers have much of a chance at winning any games at all. Are each one of them going to play against PA's ladder starting at the bottom, and keep playing until they lose? If so, I assume Katie's prize is a free point as if she'd beaten one more PA member than she will.
I haven't played ping pong all that much, but what little I've played makes me think I'd be able to beat all of the strippers quite easily. I'm used to a much faster pace of game. Pretty much all of PA would kick my ass, I'm sure, so really, how do the strippers have any shot at all?
Then there's the matter of how tired PA will get playing games against the strippers. All I can figure is the ranking Kiko had will affect play order, in order to balance things maybe.
This also makes me curious about what the remaining elimination challenges are going to look like. From now on, are they going to be based on how well they get along with the other PA members around the office? Kind of like the hiring process, and less so the independent comic business side of things?
As a Chinese-American son of a former amateur champion, this episode was hard for me to watch. It was fun, but I watched every single volley and thought they were almost all ripe for some fat juicy slams. I realize many of them had never played seriously before, and I'm fairly certain they are going to get crushed in the next episode. I'm thinking in particular of the the PA vs. ArenaNet PATV episode where Khoo was a beast. Tavis was the only one who used a slice, but Katie had the best reaction time by far. She didn't actively spin the ball but she did angle her paddle correctly, which helped her out a lot with her returns.
As someone who spent some time working where Katie is from (Nickelodeon), I'm not surprised she won. Ping pong table right in the front courtyard that was used fairly frequently by the staff. Congrats!
+1

Hmm, does Abby not have any depth perception?
I know I would be totally fucked in that challenge since that's akin to asking a totally colorblind person to play a color matching game. That's just cruel and putting someone in that person leads to play that looks like, how she played (which is how I would stumble around too)
She can chose who she wants to play first,
She can chose who she doesn't want to play at all,
She can chose a PA member to play for her...like a boss,
She starts with a advantage, which considering the overall skill of the PA members sadly would be a almost useless prize am afraid, but hey...there's always a chance Brian pulls a confident move. (how mean of me.. )
Its weeks like these that I wish we got 3 episodes a week. Its unfortunate that the editing process prohibits us from being able to see an elimination challenge each week.
I'm wondering how Monica ended up becoming Tavis during the car ride over to the PA offices.
I thought she was supposed to be Monikhoo (to intimidate the PA staff?), but I guess the hat says Tavis.

The worst thing about StripSearch is how I have to now wait for the end of my working day before I can go home and watch it.
Okay, let's just guess:
I loved this episode, Katie was lovely, Monica was adorable, Lexxy was chillingly professional. Maki was a secret comedy genius, Tavis was really friendly and helped everyone out, and Abby's new bout of confidence propelled her to new levels of sassy goodness.
Anyway, again, classy Maki holding the door open for everyone. What a gentleman.

These next few weeks will be interesting.
I'm guessing there's some heavy misdirection in the preview and they aren't actually playing ping pong against PA. They never actually say it, you never see it, and you're right: the strippers wouldn't stand a chance.
Arrgg, I wish these episodes were longer. I want to see more interactions in the house, more loose talk on the car ride over, and more debrief about what the house thought when Abby came back.
BTW: I think if they send Monica in to an elimination round that she will come back and one of the others will leave. Just a feeling I have that Monica would prevail in her first elimination experience.
Ha, poor Tavis...most of those points against him were his fault in the final match. They all seemed so relaxed there- most of them came in with no ping pong experience and still had fun with it!
Hmmm I wonder what Katie's price will be, either something to really help her with the next challenge or she will have won immunity without having to choose.

As a Lexxy hater I can have a field day with every episode. She's just terrible scene after scene.
"Not far below you is a large horizontal plane which proves beneficial in maximizing the exploitation of gravity."
Considering how bad they all are at ping pong, I'm bummed that it appears the next episode is another ping pong challenge. Obviously we don't know exactly what the rules will be but unless it's something really weird there's no reason to think that anyone but Katie or Tavis has any chance of winning the challenge (whatever that means, since obviously none of them have a chance of beating any of the PA crew in a 1v1 match).
Which one of you people at PA is the heathen Eagles fan
I think Erika used to live in/near/around Philly and is an Eagles fan.
As a fan of ping pong, I loved this episode and will certainly love the next. I wish I had a place like that club near me. I'm decent, but I still have much to learn. Wish I could work on those skills.
The last time I played ping pong was in college, and I have to say that it was very weird to see it played without body/head shot serves. I guess it is a civilized game after all!
I hope the next challenge is that they play PAINT THE LINE ccg. (not scrolling down to see if it's been said, but high-five if you said it)
How did I not think of this? This would be perfect. They played ping pong, and obviously they can't beat the PA crew, but they can roll dice and play the CCG.

Both in terms of this episode being out and it being the Ping Pong one shown in the trailer. Monica's futureproof immortality no longer applies.

(You just say the letters)
I'm terrible at ping pong myself so I can empathize with them all there.

Did they teach her that in pre-training? She didn't mention any previous experience...

And Graham... stick to Voice Overs. The scenes with your exposition just lose momentum. Otherwise, the editing is great.
If you are going to do anything ever with Penny Arcade, be naturally kick ass at Ping Pong.
Also: I have no idea how to play Ping Pong, rules wise.
Also: Monica has a beard stache at the end.
Finally, "Fire." "Dicks."
