Our rules have been updated and given
their own forum. Go and look at them! They are nice, and there may be new ones that you didn't know about! Hooray for rules! Hooray for The System! Hooray for Conforming!
Our new Indie Games subforum is now open for business in G&T. Go and check it out, you might land a code for a free game. If you're developing an indie game and want to post about it,
follow these directions. If you don't, he'll break your legs! Hahaha! Seriously though.

Oh man Bred for the Hunt.
It's hard to make a Bred for the Hunt deck work, but when it works, it feels so damn good.
Dimir-Simic-Golgari is definitely a thing! I played one in sealed at the prerelease. It helped that I pulled a Varolz.
Nono, sorry, I mean like, the campaign. Or just generic multi. Riding around with a friend, getting stopped by a horde of undead, etc.
Haaahahahaha oh my god this is delicious.
i'm on team spool on this one
i played shenmue back on the dreamcast
and i got through most of it before realizing that if i wanted to take out the trash before going to work and getting back home at a reasonable time
well
i wouldn't be playing a video game
It's very lonely in small-town Ontario.
@Irond Will I am, but my computer wasn't quite up to the job. Cass sent me a new graphics card but I need a new PSU and some other stuff to go with it. Hopefully after tomorrow I'll be good to go - my global ID in the game is @Jacobkosh
more generally, I do play MMOs still, but on a pretty casual basis and mostly to hang with PAers and my real-life friends
Actual Play: Mage: the Awakening - At the Edge of All Things
Good thing you're on my list of forum people I'd hug or this would have been awkward.
she's got her hooks in us all
yeah i saw hells of people in the guild listing that described themselves as "jacobkosh's friend" but no jacobkosh
my computer is kind of choking under the game - frequent crashes to desktop and some heat issues - but when i get my new box i expect it to sing.
i hoep to play tomorrow. if you're around i will look you up
You really can just draft it any way you want. We'll see if certain things end up coming out as really dominant, but you want to do 5 colors? You can do 5 colors. You want to do 2 colors? You can do 2 colors.
You probably can't do one color.
Probably.
I'm actually thinking 4 colors might be a safe bet to go for most of the time.
One of the things that is interesting is that the mana fixing is all front-loaded to the first pack. This makes me wonder if it will be pretty viable to just force the guilds you want by taking the gates/cluestones.
EDIT: From my limited experience so far, it seems that you have a good chance of getting handed a bomb rare for your deck two or three picks in just because dual-colored rares discourages splashing.
mmo's
rpg's
'd&d properties'
'my new box'
will what happened to you
today went on far too long
I did briefly consider that before going "fuck it I'll just assume"
I've been having a mixed relationship with [chat] recently
I mean, you're all great people
But, while I've cut back on how much time I spend on here
I still spend a lot of time on here (mostly before bed) that I could be spending doing ... other stuff
Like my free time in a new town should probably be spent developing a social circle, right?
But after work and gym/running I'm pretty much brain-dead and [chat] is easy social interaction, most of the time
So I'm flip-flopping on whether or not I should cut [chat] out for a bit
But at the same time lots of you are rad as heck, and I'm a proponent of the idea of online communities
However if I really believe that, I should probably be taking a more active role in actually interacting with y'all
Anyway I'm really just being over-dramatic because I'm a sensitive babby especially after discovering that stupid wedding website earlier and I am not coping amazingly, surprise surprise >_>
some of the G&T dudes in the PA guild are kind of...intense
Actual Play: Mage: the Awakening - At the Edge of All Things
You may have to be patient, because you are very distant.
I care not for my status on your list.
You gettin' hugged. :P
Never again

I played ME3 with [chat] people mostly.
Preacher made a tasteless sarcastic political joke at my expense as like the first thing he ever said to me. Other people in the round told him to can it.
But then I wouldn't have my cool job!
Choices, man.
Choices and occasional bouts with crippling depression (hopefully mostly in the past now?).
but do take some time to seek out people who are not online. You can do all the things! There is plenty of time.
And his head scar is still badass.
I mean, I DO have offline friends
They're mostly ~1 hour west of here, but that's nothing major, I usually make the trip out once ever couple weeks at least
But sometimes you guys are easier to talk to
Annnd all of this, again, is just me being a sensitive babby tonight :P
Narwhal, this is exactly why I quit chat for so long (well, one of the reasons).
For me at least, it didn't do a lot to get me out into the world, really. Truth is, chat is probably a better motivator for that than what I replaced it with (playing video games and browsing reddit). You should just be taking whatever opportunities you can get to go out, just don't let chat get in the way of remembering to set aside time to interact with the people around you.
if my laptop didn't struggle with it, I'd totally play it more often
I remember there being a lot of yelling and people talking over each other and getting mad when things weren't going smoothly, but not a lot of friendliness when things were going well.
It was unpleasant. I played a fair amount with Elendil too. By which I mean I basically spectated while he went on his murder sprees. I wasn't even a sidekick, yo. I was a an escort mission NPC

PSN/XBL: Zampanov -- Steam: Zampanov
I love Magicka in theory.
In practice I've never played it because it fails to install, fails to boot, or boots to a black screen depending on my computer.
that would be nice. I usually have to turn on guild chat when I log in.
Brb splitting my head open in the vain hope of being that good looking.
Maybe I should cut back when I move...
...on the other hand, moving is gonna be terrifying and I'm gonna be feeling super alone and lost and I'm sure suddenly trying to present as female will be trying.
So I am mixed.

Because of course I've been riding the high of the new job and it's gone pretty smoothly so far
But today was a particularly crappy day and combined with a few personal things I sorta spent the evening watching the hockey game, going for as long a run as possible and then searching for someone to talk to about all of it!
Elendil is a beast. Also the yelling at Nerd for taking 20 minutes to change his paint each match.
hey now, XNA is super rad. For 2D games anyway.
And on modern video cards 2D is actually harder than you'd think. A lot of frameworks, such as Unity, fuck it up and make it run worse than 3d even.
Video cards don't like huge textures and like being able to optimize swaps to texture memory. You need a very nontrivial batching system to make 2d work efficiently on them.
And this is coming from someone who enjoys more things that come out of Japan than he should
