    "smuggling" food into the theater?

theaters don't let you bring in anything you want over there?

    fascism.

What does a regular movie ticket cost in Norway?

    around a hundred

Yeah, so we're both paying $18 in the end.

when i was near the end of my time in high school i was working full time and cutting school constantly, not giving a fuck. so i often had nowhere to be until 4pm and a bunch of spending money for a teen without many expenses except what i gave my mom every week.

anyway the point is i went to the movies A LOT and i would spend so much money and eat so much junk.

matinee ticket: 6.25. large icee/soda: 5.50. soft pretzel bites with nacho cheese: 6.25.

and i'd spend that eighteen bucks probably... a half dozen times per week.

400 bucks a month at the movie theater by myself nbd nbd

I think the reason there's no "you can't bring that in here" ¨

apart from like, alcohol, maybe, since it'd be public drinking I guess

is that most people would have the same annoyed reaction I had to the idea.

I've never spent more on snacks and shit for the movie than on the ticket itself.

usually I got a bag of loose candy which I would eat maybe half of.

he's talking about purchasing power. wages are higher in norway, so for things to 'cost the same', they have to be much more expensive in norway (like with alcohol, for instance)

When I was younger, I would find an empty popcorn tub & large soda in the trash and wash them out in the bathroom.

I would then go to the concessions stand and get a "refill"

alcohol is a special case because it's taxed so heavily

yes which is about 2.9 times our minimum wage, with a beginning gas station attendant probably making very nearly our minimum wage
