I guess they're still making money overall.
A friend of mine (retailer) told a few stories about their auditors.
Really freaky stuff. She calls GW a cult now.

I think I figured out the main problem with the MMO Eve. in Eve you really have to work for your fun, which was fine when it came out, but now there are MMOs that don't make you work nearly as hard to have fun. You don't have to put up with bullshit learning curves. Those that have found fun in the game are really invested in it because of this, which is great, but it really feels insular to new people.

    Necromunda was super fun.

GW is cleaning house and shutting down all specialist games - they're getting rid of all old metal models, and I doubt we'll ever see a new run of the old Necromunda/Mordheim stuff.
    :(

I have the hardbound rulebook which includes the expansion. I also have a few issues of the Necromunda magazine that had the Ash Waste nomad rules and the like in.

Ash Waste Nomads were pretty much just worse in every way compared to the standard gangs. But I had a set. So I played those fuckers.

Ooh, ooh, I've been saying for ages that I should make an attempt on playing Necromunda with Lego.

Or doing pirates vs soldiers or whatever with Necromunda rules.

I'm really weary of games that make me work in my free time. I do that for a living, you know?
Probably one of the reasons I burn out on MMOs so fast.

Cycling news has started their liveblog of the Giro d'Italia sufficiently early that at present they are liveblogging the rider sign in.

Buffy is like 40% good 60% bad. Seasons 2, 3, and 5 are really the only ones good enough to watch the reason many like it was for the characters and whedon slang also because it was twilight before twilight.

So a girl I knew in highschool got pregnant. She posted this big long thing on her wall that can be summed up by the sentence "I will make a better mother than other women because my pregnancy is planned."

While I agree on the rest of your post, I don't think the Twilight comparison is apt.
Going by the lead character alone, the two seem diametrically opposed.

Mostly blood tests these days. Though there are random piss tests as well. Most of the riders in contention are coming into this off the back of the Giro Del Trentino or Tour de Romandie, which only finished a couple of weeks ago and a week ago, respectively. There haven't been any positives from either of those and there isn't really anything to be done pharmacologically that would make a difference fast enough that it would be likely anyone would try it.

To be fair F1 races do not generally permit spectators (and their pets!) to crowd up against the barriers separating them from the course.

Some stages don't even have barriers. This one does because it's a loop through Naples city centre. During Paris-Roubaix (which is a one-day race) the winning break consisted of four riders, two of whom were from the same team (Omega Pharma Quickstep, the riders were Stijn Vandenbergh and Zdenek Stybar), so they were pretty pleased as the race reached the closing stages, because it looked like OPQS were guaranteed at least one podium place.

Then both of them were taken out by separate idiot spectators.

Though to be fair, I think that era of GW models is really bad and I have no nostalgic attachment to them, so if I play Necromunda I'd use minis from some other company instead.

The Necromunda rules won't go away, there's a small but active community maintaining them.

    I liked the Delaque models:

Necromunda may be my favorite GW game though, so maybe I'm biased. I love the verticality, second edition 40k combat (better suited to a skirmish game than a full scale game of 40k) and progression of characters.
