Our rules have been updated and given
their own forum. Go and look at them! They are nice, and there may be new ones that you didn't know about! Hooray for rules! Hooray for The System! Hooray for Conforming!
Our new Indie Games subforum is now open for business in G&T. Go and check it out, you might land a code for a free game. If you're developing an indie game and want to post about it,
follow these directions. If you don't, he'll break your legs! Hahaha! Seriously though.

Le sigh.
What game?
Napoleon's Triumph. It's a 3 hour boardgame recreating the battle of Austerlitz with really neat deterministic combat.
He's a 7 minute video explaining basic movement options!

Khador battlegroup vs Cryx battlegroup.
Uh, are you Khador? Because uh.... you are pretty F'ed unless you gun for one specific thing. I will let you discover it on your own though, because you are a smart cookie!
Just know that the starter battlegroups aren't really balanced at all, and the Cryx start is generally regarded as the strongest/easiest. So don't get discouraged!
*fellow khador player fist bump*
Alternatively, if you are the Cryx player:
DIE SCUM
I have this point so much internalized that what interests me falls outside of what interests most people that I don't even try to like, convince people that they should think what I think is neat.
I just look at games and sigh wistfully that I will never get to play them.
Yeah, I've roped a buddy into Warmachine, we're just using the squick start rules for now.
It's a neat game, just go in knowing that there isn't really a strong correlation between the fluff and the actual game mechanics, so, when you decide what faction you want to go with eventually (I remember you saying you were proxying your stuff in a different thread) to try to do research online about how they play and not just look at the books.
For example Khador is generally touted as a faction with awesome jacks in the books, and talks of like, marching an iron wall of jacks across the battlefield.
But in actuality the vast majority of Khador warcasters have a hard time running more than a single jack and the true workhorses of the khador army is its infantry.
I mean, the models are cool, but their playable is effing boring
A friend bought into Khador and I told his this
Now he is waiting for Convergence to come out
The disparity between the fluff and the game is pretty frustrating for new players.
Like all the talk about how behind Menoth is at warjacks and then they are the best faction at running lots of warjacks. It is like... wut?
Work on my megadungeon
Tweak this creature I will be using as the focus in my next shot at GMing
Return/buy some clothing
Board games
I don't read the fluff. At all.
I just look at the models and buy the ones I look at two or more times.
My Legion of Everblight (which are pink!) are pretty rad.
Chocolate chip is a classic cookie.
Pretzels dipped in yogurt is a fake cookie.
The chocolate digestive is the platonic ideal of a cookie.
Chocolate digestive is not a cookie. It's a biscuit.
Necromunda was super fun.
My striders!
GW is cleaning house and shutting down all specialist games - they're getting rid of all old metal models, and I doubt we'll ever see a new run of the old Necromunda/Mordheim stuff.
Eh, I bet we will see either a limited boxed game or an iOS thing.
someone posted a factoid about a buffy episode and the top comments are just sloppy, spit-everywhere, totally messy blowjobs for the show and MOST MOVING THING ON TELEVISION and BEST PIECE OF TELEVISED MEDIA EVER and SO FUCKING WELL DONE AND CLASSY
chat seems quite divided on buffy
though even the people who like whedon stuff seem to also hate it and go "lol whedon" from time to time
so what is a guy to think, you know?
*watches porn*
Infinity looks super cool! Combined Army FTW!
I think 40k Spehs Mareens are especially bad at it.
I have the hardbound rulebook which includes the expansion. I also have a few issues of the Necromunda magazine that had the Ash Waste nomad rules and the like in.
Ash Waste Nomads were pretty much just worse in every way compared to the standard gangs. But I had a set. So I played those fuckers.
I'm not a Whedon fan. I do not like Buffy. My opinion is right.
The Necromunda rules won't go away, there's a small but active community maintaining them.
That first series though is like pulling teeth. I fully understand people not vaulting over that hurdle.
I think having interesting 3D terrain out of the box was one of the reasons that Necromunda was such fun.
