Unfortunately the two girls I am on vacation with both love doing two things I do not: taking pictures and shopping.

I swear if I have to wait one more time for them to photograph my meal before I can eat it there will be murders.

Unsure if related, but it makes his name a lot cuter if that's the case.

That reminds me, I had some coffee that had been pooped out by ferrets yesterday.

    It was pretty good!

Yeah, I've read about that stuff. Supposed to be really mild on the palate and digestive system, with notes of chocolate. Does it hold up to its reputation, you think?

Not sure if I got notes of chocolate but it was very rich and not acidic at all. They coupled with its very low caffeine content should make it easy on the system.

    It was really good!

oh no, i guess i wasn't clear. i meant after the first time or two i had a thing with a girl- so like, by my third hookup/relationship i recognized pretty early on with the next girl whether i didn't feel strongly about someone in the appropriate ways.

if it's been that many times that y'all have been together why is this still an ambiguous or confusing thing for you? what's the deal? give me details including birthdays and eye colors.

    Chotto matte kudasai!!!

Do keep in mind that the subtitlers do take some artistic license with what they are doing. I have seen the same phrase translated lots of ways in the same episode even, but that is because Japanese is very context sensitive, but I don't always agree with how they are doing it in every instance.

Nah chotto by itself is just like "a little" so saying it by itself only makes sense with a lot of context.

What you end chotto matte with depends on what you want to emphasize.

You could end it in kudasai, yo, ne, yone, a combination of those, or others.

I'll try playing Demon's Souls again.

    I won't try level 3-1 again, i'll go on 4-1 instead...

Because 3-1? too dark and confusing and scary for me, right now...

Yeah. It's considered a very high context language by linguists (while American English is quite low, for reference). Lots of dropped subjects, objects, parts of grammar, etc.

If you walked into a room and wanted to express that it was cold for example you would just say "cold." No need to specifiy what is cold as you can derive it from context.

... In southern Ontario. Which, as the rest of Canada knows, means that there's a party everywhere.
