Why is it that you people make me act so irresponsibly? I am currently unemployed, just dumped a ton of money into a new place to live, am cutting it ridiculously close on bills this month, but yet you people have me wanting to drop $15 on La-Mulana. Also, trying to determine who I should snipe with a copy of Proteus.

This is why I inevitably end up avoiding this thread for a month here and there. :P

I want to buy all the games. So basically, the thread can only influence in what order I procure them. As long as we have a mutual understanding that money will be spent in copious amounts, I find I am now at peace.

So is Jade Empire completely unvoiced or am I experiencing a bug? It was kind of a pain to get running in the first place, and all the other audio plays, but during conversations neither the main character nor the person Im talking to is voiced.

Kinda odd for a game that takes up 7GBs.

Would it be a good idea to pre-order Total War: Rome II from GMG before the 25% discount expires? I'm just not sure if there'll be a better deal before September.

That will probably be the best deal but, GMG will most likely offer it on and off all the way up until release. 20% at least for sure.

Yeah, I can remember them offering 20% discounts quite a few times before, I just wasn't sure if they'd go up to 25% again. I know I'm going to get it day one anyway but it feels weird pre-ordering this far out. I dunno, I guess I'll make a decision over the next couple of days. Thanks for the help.

GMG's 20% off coupon usually does NOT work on pre-orders. And sometimes brand-new releases aren't covered.

GMG's blog says it the 25% code expires in a couple of days:
"Voucher expires at 1500 UTC May 17th. Only available on listed titles above."

Just finished the last episode of Back To The Future: The Game. I was pleasantly surprised by it. The voice acting was quite good, and the guy who is imitating Michael J Fox does a good job of it. The puzzles were not overly challenging, and the story was very amusing. The last 5 minutes or so made me sad that there isn't a second season, because the possibilities for the next story seemed really interesting.

I'm right at the end I think. I was grinning like an idiot during the first 2 episodes but then
    Doc disappears
and I just kept thinking that the BttF theories had been broken. But I guess there's enough problems in the trilogy if you look too hard.

    Back To The Future Spoilers:
At the end of the 2nd episode Doc dissapears due to the change in the timeline, with him not going to the Frankenstein movie. Marty and the DeLorean remain, and Marty has the full memories of what the original timeline was. I think this is in keeping with the original trilogy. In the second film when Biff changes the timeline Marty, Doc, and the DeLorean remain, with their memories intact, even though the timeline had changed enough so that the DeLorean would never have been made. I just realized I'm probably over thinking this, and should chock it all up to "Wibbly Wobbly Timey Wimey"

Sanctum 2 out tomorrow, continuing the surprising 2013 trend of having women headlining video games.

Hopefully, they've kept the little psychotic giggles of the first Sanctum. She had the best crazy "Yay, I'm killing stuff!" laughter of any game ever.

Metro: Last Light came out today. So far it's decent, and possibly the most graphically appealing game I have ever played. Quite a few people on my friend's list seem to want it. I wish I could be classy and gift it out, but I'm broke and I can't. What I can do is compel you all to serve the Newell by uploading some screenshots as I play it. Click the Steam thing in my sig and check'em out. When I beat it I'll give a quick review too.

Anywho, speaking of appealing games, I've noticed everyone seems to like System Shock 2. I don't understand... how could they have done that? It wasn't meant to be so important... and now you think to play it? How dare you, classy folks? You are nothing. An awesome collection of class...

    I mean...

Have this giveaway! Open to everyone in the regular PA Steam group from now until noon EST on Saturday.

So, Steam thread: currently my wife and daughter are on a 5 week trip visiting relatives over seas. While the novelty of having much more time to spend on my Steam backlog was great at first, the emptiness of the house is pretty noticeable. Add to this the fact that I decided to start working Spec Ops: The Line and The Walking Dead off my backlog, and it equals the fact that I need some seriously happy fun bubblegum-y game to play to counter darkness :P Any recommendations for cheap games on Steam that might fit the bill?

To the ones already mentioned (with special mention for Recettear), I'd also like to suggest two more games:

    1. Magical Diary
    2. Fortune Summoners (warning: even though the game is super adorable, it is also pretty goddamn hard)
    3. Lego Batman

I concur on Magical Diary. It's made of win.

A bunch of folks have been gifting this hot new game System Shock 2...

Whats sad is that I've never actually played System Shock 2. I bought it back in the day and my computer at the time couldn't run it. I ended up giving it to a friend and going back to playing the quest for glory games.

@shade if by some strange mechanism you do not have the game by the time you send me you steam ID and its still on sale I will rectify this issue.

However I recommend that you do not wait as System Shock 2 is better than Deus Ex

    Okay, I have an idea.

I got spare copies of Half-Life 2 and Half-Life 2: Episode 1 that I've had for 5.5 years now. I think it's time to get rid of them.

Free to a good home, no limits on whether or not your in this group or that. But there's a catch.

Firstly, you must promise (in this thread so everyone can see :)) to actually play through the games. Preferably within a month.

Secondly, you must come back here and tell everyone what you thought about them. You don't need to write an essay, but a couple of paragraphs discussing your thoughts, what you liked and what you didn't like would be great.

So, first person who wants them gets them.

EDIT: Also, I got two copies one copy of "The Ship" that are free to good homes. Or bad homes. You don't need to promise to write about them or even play them. I just want them out of my inventory :D

EDIT EDIT: Hell, might as well do a clean sleep. Couple of giveaways for the G&T Adventure Time group.
    signature.png
    signature.png

    So, to recap

-Free copy of HL2 and HL2: Ep1 to whoever promises to play through them and post a bit about what they thought.
-Free copies copy of The Ship to whoever is dumb enou.. err.. kind enough to take them it
-And a couple of giveaways for the G&T Adventure Time group.

EDIT EDIT EDIT: Albino Bunny graciously took one of the copies of The Ship from me. Only one remains!

Seriously, System Shock 2 and AOE2.

People have also been talking up:

Monaco (Top down co-op heist simulator)
    StarDrive (4x with samurai bears)
    FX2 Pinball (because..pinball?)
Farcry3: Blood Dragon (80's themed FPS)
Defiance (another SF MMO, tied to..a US TV show, I think?)

Haven't got play experience with those five though - but buzz has been solid, esp for Monaco/Blood Dragon.

    You forgot Prime World: Defenders...

You're right, I did. Sorry about that.

In my defense, I was very tired. But yes, Prime World Defenders, which seems to be some sort of cunning fusion of tower defense and collectible card game.

Unrelatedly, I appear to just meet the minimum requirements for that, and I can't decide if I'm pleased I might get around to it one day, or depressed that my PC has now descended properly into toaster-hood.
