It's not the bad game that initially got released. They did a lot of work to fix most of the problems people had with the game and it's pretty decent/good now.

I played Hydrophobia when it came out on the X-box and really enjoyed it.

This is my first time in the thread, but it seems like the place for people who play buy and give games on Steam. I'm a recent Steam adopter, but I've acquired a couple of spare games, and I'd like to share them with the world! Or one person. Whichever.

First up: Don't Starve. (That's the game, not my instructions. I guess it's both, since I care about your well-being.) If you haven't played it, the title, quite literally, says it all. I'll happily give it to the sender of the first PM to @Wooden Spoon that makes me laugh. I'd even settle for a chortle, giggle, or cackle.

It's my birthday on Tuesday. So it's time for a giveaway contest! Because birthdays are my favoritest things ever. It's one day when a person gets to be the center of attention. Plus, I like cake. Cake is awesome. And the cake is not a lie that day.

But I hear you grumbling. "Yeah, yeah, we get it. You like cake. So what's this about a contest?"

Oh, right. Dishonored! I hear this game is good.

What do you have to do? Well, here's the thing. Between now and the evening of my birthday, every single post I make in this thread will have a challenge in spoiler tags at the end of it. It could be a riddle. It could be a trivia question. It could be completely silly. It could be a request for Youtube links. All you have to do is answer it correctly or do whatever it says. Every person who sends me a PM with the correct entry (and you only get one try per post!) gets a birthday candle:

But you can only answer the current challenge. As soon as I post a new challenge, all previous ones are inactive. So pay attention!

Yes, candles! Save your candles. On the evening of my birthday, there will be a drawing. Every person who has at least one candle gets one drawing entry per candle. So the more you have, the better your chances! The random winner gets the game. Simple enough? Questions? No? Okay, cool. Carry on!

(Disclaimer: the candles are completely imaginary. You will in no way receive an actual candle. They do not hold up well to being emailed. I will simply be keeping a spreadsheet listing how many candles each person has won.)

What part didn't you like about D3? Torchlight 2 is really enjoyable, with much better drops than D3--that was my only real issue with D3, personally, that I could play for a couple hours and get nothing that even equaled my own level.

Yeah I know but I figure I'll at least try and attempt it this go around. I mean I've played Daggerfall, Morrowind, (maybe Oblivion? if I did it was brief) and Skyrim all without getting further than one or two minor quests into the main storyline. I progressed a bit through the Thieves Guild quests in a couple of those and remember doing some Mages Guild stuff in Daggerfall. But yeah Elder Scrolls games don't seem to lend themselves to main storyline progress.

I finally just put on blinders, ignored all optional quests and map markets, and finished the main quest in Skyrim.

It was the only time I didn't really love the game. My Nord swordsman? He was meant to be free.

Plenty of time to fuck around in the world afterward.

Hm, I don't know if I can actually describe what I didn't like about D3. I guess I'll ask this: how is the gameplay and does the loot system help make the gameplay more fun?

As someone with ADD, Skyrim provides excellent engagement. Nearly 500 hours in that game.

Can any classy Nords assist me? I was thinking of booting up Skyrim again just to gawk at trees, and it no longer recognizes my mouse and keyboard. At the title screen, I have to use the keyboard to Continue my save, and after it loads, I lose both the mouse and keyboard.

They still sell at a rate of a few hundred copies every day on the market, but you need to be extremely lucky to get your copies picked among the over 700k available at the moment.

Man, Torchlight 2 is pretty awesome so far. First of all, getting a Stag or a Ferret for a pet is awesome. And the gameplay itself is a lot of fun :> Also, I absolutely love the art style of the Torchlight games.

I remember this happening to me after a patch or some such silliness. I believe it's defaulted to Controller if you have one plugged in? From the main menu, or is there a setup for Skyrim? It's been a long time since I've fired it up. Anywho, find the menu, and change it to kbam!
