Wow, thanks Steam Thread! I actually HAVE Crusader Kings II, a gift from @AnteCantelope (THANKS!), and I now have a definition for 4X, which I hadn't known before. Awesome!

I'm thinking about getting the Double Fine Humble Bundle, but I already own Brütal Legend and Psychonauts (on GoG). How's Costume Quest and Stacking? They look both pretty interesting, but I'm not sure if I'd really like them.

Costume quest is a fun little game. It's a mix of light adventure and light JRPG-type combat. Stacking is in my backlog.

I keep telling myself not to buy the double fine bundle because I have Psychonauts and Brutal Legend already.

...but I don't have them on Steam. (OXBox and PS3, respectively).

Game Hoarding is a thing, right? It's like regular hoarding, but since it's digital, no one has to smell it when they enter your home.

Time to garner the hate but:

I tend not to enjoy older games. Simply for shallow reasons like graphics and clunkiness. Plus my opinion on Bioshock (which I'm led to believe is the more modern incarnation of System Shock) is that they're really pretty games with good stories that kinda feel flat on the gampleay front.

And I don't like Point and click, no, Magical Diary doesn't count. Magical Diary let me play anime Harry Potter, which is a distinct advantage.

Okay, I have an idea.

I got spare copies of Half-Life 2 and Half-Life 2: Episode 1 that I've had for 5.5 years now. I think it's time to get rid of them.

Free to a good home, no limits on whether or not your in this group or that. But there's a catch.

Firstly, you must promise (in this thread so everyone can see

) to actually play through the games. Preferably within a month.

Secondly, you must come back here and tell everyone what you thought about them. You don't need to write an essay, but a couple of paragraphs discussing your thoughts, what you liked and what you didn't like would be great.

So, first person who wants them gets them.

Also, I got a copy of "The Ship" that is free to a good home. Or a bad home, I don't really care. You don't need to promise to write about it or even play it. I just want it out of my inventory

It comes with both the Multiplayer and the Singleplayer versions.

And while I'm at it, might as well do a clean sweep. Couple of giveaways for the G&T Adventure Time group.

So, to recap

-Free copy of HL2 and HL2: Ep1 to whoever promises to play through them and post a bit about what they thought.

No, no one here will tell you to buy it. The Steam thread is all about simply pointing out good games, and good deals. we do not buy all the games. Nor do we buy a huge bundle of games simply because it is a good deal. This idea is foreign to us.

With this hilarious dog story:

Dog stories? I've got dog stories. All the standard funny stuff, like dogs waking themselves up with a particularly loud fart...deciding the best way to handle it was thowing a shit-fit of barking.

But the best dog story comes to us from the mid-90's. To set the scene, one of our dogs - a yellow lab named Bridget - was a bit of a troublemaker. Sweet dog, typical lab...but she just had a thing for getting into trouble. It was early March in Michigan, so there was still some snow on the ground on my sister's birthday. I don't recall exactly why I was home alone that day, but I was home with the dogs.

My mom had made my sister's birthday cake and asked me to frost it when it cooled down, so I'd done that. The dogs were out playing in the fenced in dog yard, and I had gone back to my computer when I noticed it had been a little bit too quiet for too long. I looked out the window and realized that Bridget had gotten out. Not a big deal, it happened, and she usually only took a minute or two to round up. I put my shoes on without socks and grabbed a sweatshirt, and went out after her.

Well, she decided it would be a fun day to play chase, and - long story short - I ended up having to chase her about three quarter miles through knee high snow. I was absolutely freezing and miserable when I finally caught her and dragged her back home. After a minute or two of warming up, she wanted to go back outside and I was happy to oblige. But before I did that, I had to fix the fence. I found the hole, grabbed the stapler and patched it with chicken wire.

When I came back in, I realized that my sister's large chocolate birthday cake was sitting in the middle of the table. And so was Bridget. Standing on the fucking table with all four feet. Eating it like a starving kid with a pork chop. When I came into the room her eyes darted over to me and she ate even more frantically - grabbing it with her front paws and just burying her face in it. I grabbed her - dragged her - off the table, and she slipped her collar and ran away into the living room. Tracking chocolate frosting the whole way, apparently it was too much for her and she started throwing up - on the carpet, the rugs, even on the couch. Running away from me like she was trying to water our house with brown puke.

I finally got a hold of her and dragged her back outside into the dog yard. Just about the time I got started cleaning up, I glanced out the window and saw she had found or made another hole in the fence and gotten out again.

That was a fucking shitty day. She didn't seem the least bit phased by it - by the time I rounded her up she was back to normal. I miss that dog.
