If they're not retroactive (they won't be retroactive), I'll go idle some more main menus for even more games that I've already played. It's not a big deal.

Load up the game and wander off. You don't actually have to play the game to get the cards just having it running works. I can see how annoying it could be to just run a game for some cards, with the re-downloading, installing ect. However it is a completely pointless thing. Getting cards only allows you to craft badges. Crafting badges raises your "level", and can drop emotes, backgrounds for your profile, and coupons. Honestly if it annoys in the slightest, I'd simply walk away and not worry about it.

So what? It's not like you have to beat the game again to get your full allotment of cards. Set it running, go do the dishes, come back, and you're done.

If you get in on the collectable card beta, you play certain games which give you cards, and these cards lead to Steam badges. Do I have that right?

They could tie cards to achievements, which would be absolutely evil. Then you can't just idle, but you'd have to actually play and pay attention to all the achievements.

I was responding to if in the future ACHIEVEMENTS were to get cards. I mean, yeah, I suppose it would be in addition to just run time, but still. People would be screwed out of possibly another full drop of cards on the off chance that they finished all the achievements before the trading cards were a thing.

Has anybody played Reus? On sale today. It looks super neat, as someone who is way into giants and god games and giant god games. Or at least the idea of them, historically. Thinking about picking it up but I'd love some impressions if anybody has checked it out.

If it put you into the Beta properly, you should have a Badges option under your name in the Steam client (and community site). Take a look there. If not, I would try restarting your Steam client.

So I'm a teeny tiny bit late to the party, but holy shit is Portal 2 amazing!
I think I'll pop into the PA group sometime soon so that I can get someone to do some jolly cooperation with me, it looks like it would be a hoot!

I'm looking at delicious deals, without the ability to actually waste cash I've managed to pick up Receiver (the game's a blast, if anyone's on the fence about it). I am starting to think that Steam itself is a game, it's a game of acquiring games, the count of titles you have is your XP bar :P

Well me and wife are trying to break out into making videos on games cooperatively. So far, it's been a blast going through Orcs Must Die 2 with her (bad thing is that she's generally better than I am at games...and now it's documented). We just picked up Borderlands 2, but, sadly, her computer can't handle it, so we're going to go for Portal 2 next, I think, cause she has no idea what the game is even about...well sort of, she watched me play a little.

Have you applied w/e the graphics fix is called? It will cause a CTD if you start it with one of the graphic settings enabled.
