i mean clearly colin hanks is the fish out of water but i don't think you're taking into account how weird looking jake busey needs to be

He looks like a young version of his dad. It's as if his mother imparted no genetic information, and instead Busey Prime split in two and named the new mass Jake.

    Watch Starship Troopers, geez.

    so i saw this movie

it was fairly entertaining (it is a shane black and RDJ joint after all) but I am now suffering the odd affliction of remembering absolutely nothing specific about it

like, there was a scene where stark hung out with a kid and made some funny jokes and another where he became sam fisher for five minutes. the human torch was also in this film?

five out of five thumbs up

I watched Starship Troopers the other day and, as I only fairly recently started to recognize actors and such who's work I like, was floored to see Clancy Brown as Zim

    Really?

He was honestly one of the most memorable characters in the film.

But then I was already a fan of him before I saw that movie.

I really only got to know him through Justice League, which I only watched from reruns or DVD, and I hadn't watched Starship Troopers for probably eight years

legit do not get the love for that series

for supposedly having a chinese influence in space it sure is minimal in the show

the space hooker thing is awful

and there was a friggin episode where summer glau was going to be burned at the stake as a witch in a show about space trading/colonization that did not have the premise of the episode be "the crew of the firefly travelled in time and space to paranoid Salem"

I mean, that is pretty easily the worst episode of the series and even then there's a semi reasonable explanation for it but also WHY ARE WE STILL TALKING ABOUT THIS

Had a great moment after Avengers blew up.

Someone said, "Hey now that Joss is super successful, maybe he can make a Firefly movie! He can kickstart it if he has to!"

"He already did, it's called Serenity, now let it go."

I like the series and the movie, but that's the end of it. Stop trying to reopen the wound. It's healed.

Well the inherent assumption that Joss or any of the other people associated with Firefly would have any interest at all in revisiting it after a decade and when they've all gone off to do other far more lucrative things.

And it's not even like a Veronica Mars type situation, Firefly already had it's movie! It got an ending!

I'm pretty sure they've all said they loved their time working on Firefly and would like to revisit it if it were at all possible.

Obviously this was a few years ago before Joss Whedon became king of the nerds, but I'm sure if someone offered him a chance to bring it back and he had the available time, he'd jump on it in a heartbeat.

EDIT: Not that it has a chance in hell of happening now, mind you. :D

I think someone hit the nail on the head when this was announced.

Robocop is a product of the 80's. Back then robots were invisioned as big, clunky, chunky and slow and Robocop was right in the middle of that.

Now-a-days we envision robots as inhumanly capable; fast and agile while retaining incredible strength and durability. By all accounts, this new Robocop seems to be a product of this current era of scifi.

They've all said the former, but not the latter.

If he really wanted he could easily have extended the series with a comic book - the Buffy continuation series has been running for 6 years and is still trucking and he's written a number of the issues himself and retains an overseeing role.

He's done with Firefly, he's said so himself. Enjoy what we have and stop begging him to revisit the past instead of letting him make something new.
