Is there any easy way to tell if an ailment is allergies or a sickness?

Like... if I take Zyrtec and start feeling better will that tell me that I do not have a sickness but instead have allergies?
I mean, that would probably be a good tell, but if you're in that much doubt you should probably see a doctor

Also from what I remember she was almost as vacuous as the novel itself boom roasted

Carey Mulligan described her character as "a Kim Kardashian of the '20s." I'm sure that comment resulted in a scolding from the movie's publicity director.

    Why?

    It's not really inaccurate

Makes the character inherently unlikeable (before audiences even see the movie and discover for themselves that she's unlikeable) just with the association.

    butbutbut

    the character is unlikeable

    like

    that's the point

But I think they're selling the movie as a star-crossed lover romance thingy, as it's hard to get any sort of grasp of what the characters are like from trailers and advertisements.

Those who hate the books they were forced to read in school should do what I did and never read them, instead dashing off essays based around the sample paragraphs and a loose understanding of the overall plot and some stuff you remember the teacher saying and the film. Worked right though A-levels.

Later, as a adult, revisit the books and enjoy them.

yo the great gatsby is a shit book deal with it

have you noticed how every book forced on you in high school and touted as literary crack cocaine usually is

it's almost like they don't want kids to read "here are the best books in the world kids, but they're still pretty shit"

I've found that this has more to do with the "forcing on you" bit than any quality of the material itself

    maybe

i'm still pretty convinced they were just crap books though

My favorite thing we read in high school was "the Tragical History of the Life and Death of Doctor Faustus."

Because demons that aren't pure malevolence, probably.

I have a thing for demons.

I really enjoyed two books from required reading. Frankenstein and The Old Man and The Sea. Frankenstein was a really surprising read to me as I was expecting something completely different. And The Old Man and The Sea really pushed certain buttons for me cause I love the ocean so much and I loved the writing style. I still re-read both of the these from time to time.

But that's it though. Other books I had to read? Ivanhoe? Oh hell no.

I read Frankenstein in high school but I read it by choice rather than forced.

I love it. Totally different, yeah, but so.. I dunno. Universal, I want to say.
