I would like to see Captain Jack Harkness in a new episode.

I much preferred him in Dr Who than Torchwood.

But on the other-hand, his last scene in Dr Who was a nice send-off.

I'm a bit miffed that he won't be coming back for the 50th! He also should have been there for Eleven when he was rallying everyone who owed him a debt at Demon's Run. I think Barrowman and Smith would work so well together.

The 50th would have been an excellent time to bring him back, without ruining his earlier send off.

yeah but he doesn't really owe the doc a debt

That was just for A Good Man Goes to War. You're right, he really doesn't, but if the Doctor had called on him to help, he would have.

Say what you will about that midseason finale episode, but A Good Man Goes To War is still one of my favorite episodes!

Rory was especially great at the beginning of that one

A Study in Emerald is a fun little short story.

I wonder if there is enough meat on the bones to make a setting for a proper novel.

I think that would detract from its appeal

when it ended WW1 was already starting, and the edwardian britain that Holmes inhabits is dying. the social change would drown out the gimmick.

The novel wouldn't have to pick up where the short story left off, in fact, it would probably be best if it ended at around the same place due to what you've pointed out.

    I must away, chat!

I have an interview tomorrow, and I absolutely can't be late.
To be sure I got some sleep, I went to bed at half past eight.
But first I had a run, and a long, hot, bath.
    I haven't had a coffee for a week and a half!

So given that, please tell me, what is it in heaven,
You want from me, insomnia, at 2:37?
Insomnia, what is it you're so certain that we ought to do?
And why's it so important that we do it at a quarter-to?

Three in the morning when the world's asleep,
What is the reward you're so sure we'll reap?
By staring at the ceiling from now until morning,
And sitting through our interview compulsively yawning?!

Children's urology is probably going to be predictable in that regard.

However there's some chance that a bunch of med students will also see them, because it was both a very dramatic flaw, and a 100% recovery (or so I'm told - thankfully I haven't needed to look).

As I play San Andreas, I like to imagine that the various humiliations CJ endures help broaden his worldview. Like, after being deposited with no weapons or money in the middle of the sticks, he secretly develops an appreciation for country music. Then after going to San Francisco I make sure he sports a pink mohawk, dresses really well, and turns the dial to the techno station.

This is actually what I like about the story, that it encourages CJ to understand there's more to life than Grove Street.

And then Sweet comes back and tries to impart a message of never forgetting your roots but overdoes it and ooooh noooooooooo

If the Star Trek films were candy, Star Trek VI would be dark chocolate, II would be milk chocolate, and IV would be white chocolate.

I dunno about the others, I guess '09 is cotton candy, and Insurrection is those hippie fruit juice sweetened cookies my parents bought when I was a kid. Cookies aren't really candy but whatever. And the Motion Picture is licorice?

    looked like south america

also the resort was a closed loop

and the camera hoofed it - not ferry by car. walked down stairs to a harbour that was literally a single plank of wood jutting onto a small boat, then off into the river it went.
