Ok, I'm not saying it didn't happen but Courthouse News has a history of being extremely one-sided about these things. It borders on WND levels of slant sometimes.

i think the point of courthouse news is to be extremely one-sided? like, the lawyer representing the case will write up an article and send it to courthouse news to give his side increased exposure or whatever.

That's what I meant. They're not trying to give you the whole picture. They're trying to stir up outrage.

I know people who would likely print specialist guns if ever possible because in NZ buying anything fancy, like an AR-15 would be near impossible.

Sure it would likely be illegal possession a the very least but if they had little chance of being caught, it would be done.

I told my NZ friend about it and she seemed pretty interested in the idea, except she'd still need bullets. She really likes guns.

    me too

    you know what i do?

buy airsoft guns, all the sweeeeeeeeet gun stuff and even some pew pew but no death
Some pricks shot my cat to death with airsoft guns with metal bbs.

Ban all guns, even fake ones.
guns are cool, I don't want to ban airsoft guns, but those guys were dicks

i have no idea how they managed that

even with metal BB's my gun would not fire rounds with enough velocity to penetrate skin

you'd get a slightly nastier bruise but that's it, even to kill a cat you'd have to do something grotesque like jam the barrel in its eye socket

those guys were probably using air rifles, because that shit happens a lot
We wern't sure, she just limped home and the vet did an x-ray and found her riddled with steel bbs on one side.

Why wouldn't I want to use Alienware as a comparison point? They're the most mainstream prefab "gaming" PC makers at this point.

Because they charge a big premium for their stuff (though its more like $200 than $500)? There are other options out there for people who don't want to build.

You're paying $200-300 extra for that case. If you buy a big brutal case, that would also be $200-300.

But the 200R is the best option.

Yeah, pretty much. The boutique builders also like to water cool everything even if the specs don't really warrant it. That's where the other big portion of the premium comes in compared to people who just throw together a parts list and go "lol alienware".

Right. Just saying there are other builders with a much smaller premium since they don't use giant custom cases.

The thing is I hate huge computer cases.

I have a small room. I don't have the space for a suitcase sized monster.

I'd pay a lot for a case half the size, or more cube shaped. While still having a powerful machine.

You can get plenty of small components to fit in a small case. The only hurdle you run into is the video card. Half-height cards are always cheaper and slower. You won't get a 60fps Crysis 3 machine with a slim card.

Yup I have an antec for my work PC, but am using the corsairs for new builds almost entirely here.

The time I've spent cleaning shitware off the PC is paying for the time it takes me to assemble one (and then some). We've saved enough on 4 PCs we were able to build 8 with the same price. So the whole front office staff gets new PCs when we move our office.

It's shit work for tiny margins and everyone is going to come to you with shit they broke that takes hours to fix and expect the work for free because that's how the big guys do it.

Eventually your markup will creep up and hardware quality will creep down and warranty terms will get less and less charitable until you are actually worse than dell.

Or at least this is the story I've seen with every mom and pop system builder shop that thinks they can run the industry out of business.

you can print john malkovich's shitty plastic gun from that movie from way back and that's it

Sure, which is why I said "if ever possible", as I acknowledge it doesn't seem possible right.

Hunters especially lust after pistols, which are almost impossible to legally own, let alone take off the range to use in the field.

D: Dr.F is going to try cutting his drywall up to level a concrete floor by pouring the concrete underneath it.

Oh god this is going to go so bad and fuck so much up. All this effort and money he's trying to save is just going to be wasted when he has to tear up the drywall and tear down the wall itself and then fix the floor, and then, rebuild it anyways.

Do it right the first time, oh my god.
