It always seems like contractors and hourly guys are always screwed on vacation and benefits though. I celebrated greatly when I finally moved to full time salary.

If you're IT, hourly> salaried as long as the benefits are the same,imho.

Eh, this is entirely reasonable, it's not like their making them take it down, their basically saying, sure you can put up the entire content of our game without licensing it from us, but we get ad revenue.
I would argue it's pretty much the ideal situation. The only real improvement would be being able to work out a split.
I have to log
-when I start work and where
-when I leave work
-when I'm in a meeting and where
-when I'm en route to another building and to which
-when I'm in the caf or outside (which no one does)
-when I run out of the office for a while (lunch or errands or something)
-when I'm working some place other than my desk and can be paged
-when I'm working some place other than my desk and can be phoned
Some of it is convenient since I can figure out who I can contact if necessary. But it also means you're flagged if you leave before 530 (but not if you get in late or early) or if you work less than 7 hours in a day.
