Episode 3.07 may as well have been titled Foreshadowing for book people.

What're the odds that Talisa was writing to her mother, 0%? Right, 0%. I wasn't onboard with her being a Lannister spy before, but that scene completely flipped my opinion.
annnnnd there's the chain of gold for Shae. Perfectly setup to murder the emotions of the show watchers.

And Tormund! So nice of you to join us. HAR.
Was the Blackfish at the Red Wedding and taken captive? I forget. I know they held Edmure until they figure out if the girl's pregnant.

Blackfish was left at Riverrun and escapes when Edmure is about to surrender by jumping into the river. I think.

So show-Jeyne is pregnant. book Jeyne never was confirmed that way, in fact the opposite was more likely, correct?

I'm a monster, but I hope show-Jeyne dies in the RW. but I guess now she won't as a consolation to Robb lovers. hm.

My hope is that at the wedding she's somehow revealed to have been informing to Tywin (a huge longshot, I know) and Cat cuts her goddamned throat. Show-Cat would become a net-positive character for me at that point.

    yep that'd be great.

I'm not sure the writers are going to be that cruel.

meanwhile, I hate show Shae a lot and her end can't come soon enough. "Your father isn't king of the world" UH YES HE PRETTY MUCH IS.

That would be just too tragic.

Well, I'm operating under the assumption that somewhere along the way she really fell in love with Robb, that absolutely no one even planned for her to meet Robb, and that Tywin is basically just blackmailing her at this point. If she's actively helping bring Robb down, I'm all for Cat killing her.

That'd add some extra kick to the Red Wedding.

    I don't really mind show-Shae. I think she's a much better character than book-Shae.

But yes, when she said that, I said, "Oh, you sweet summer child, of course his father rules the world."

We also got the much-anticipated scene of Tywin checking Joffery. Beautifully shot... Tywin slowly mounting the stairs to tower over his petulant grandson. It was a pity that Cersei wasn't there to take notes.

The Tywin/Joffrey scene was great. It really showed the viewers who don't read the books whose really in charge of the Seven Kingdoms. Charles Dance is a fantastic actor. Its a shame he'll be leaving us next season.

I grant that she's better than the book character because she's fleshed out to the point where you can understand why Tyrion likes her. Then she becomes a petulant entitled bitch who can't see reality.

I guess she'll be throwing her lot soon enough.

Talissa is going to be the one who marries Ramsay. It makes sense that the Bolton's would want that and it makes Theon's redemptive arc a bit more personal, saving the wife and child of the brother he betrayed.

That's already a better story than the Jeyne Poole bit from the novels. Not sure how practical it is, narratively speaking, but I could see them going there.

They need some plan for the Theon/Winterfell plot, because the economy of characters in the show so far means that Jeyne Poole doesn't even exist, as far as the TV audience is concerned. Even if they introduce her later, the audience will wonder who this chick is, and why they keep calling her Arya.

Book Jeyne is still alive somewhere. Also yeah, her mom was aborting any possible fetus as one of the thirty-five different women thinking about moon tea in ASoS.

yeah. I sympathize with the viewers complaining about Theon atm, because honestly I can't remember a GIANT payoff there waiting for them.

I think everyone will forget about it after ep 9. I predict no Theon (or VERY short Theon) in ep 10.

What's really hilarious is that Joffrey's complaint is that nobody's telling him about dragons in Essos, and Tywin's just like, "Psh that doesn't matter, just a curiosity!"

Every once in a while Joffrey actually is right about something.

What's with the complaints about book-Shae? She's a great side-character. Wouldn't work as well in the TV show though because book-Shae depends on us always seeing shit from Tyrion's perspective.

It just doesn't make sense though. Unless they are gonna somehow try and pass her off as Arya, it fucks a ton of plotlines up and changes the tenor of the storylines in ADWD.

    Maybe sort of.

It replaces "save Arya" and "save Jeyne" with "save Robb's widow." Jon and Theon both would want to save the woman Robb loved.
